  • OCTOBER EDUCATIONAL

    Oct_Edu.png

Join our October Educational Event on Thursday, October 18th from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Segerstrom Center for the Arts (SCFTA), 600 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Valet parking is complimentary at the event. The valet parking, FREE, will be available by entering off of Town Center Drive in the round-about of Box Circle. ONLY Valet parking will be free, SCFTA cannot reimburse anyone who parks on their own.

Come see behind the curtain during an exclusive tour of Orange County's award-winning home for the performing arts and see Segerstrom Center in a whole new light! From the magnificent lobbies to the grand stages, this tour will be an exciting journey through areas rarely seen by the general public.

During this event, we will be helping our members and attendees navigate the voting process including the when, where, and how of voting AND learning what’s on the ballot. We will be hosting a special guest presenter to help our attendees and members educate themselves on the ballot initiatives and what these mean in plain English. This event will be strictly educational and non-partisan. We want to help the young professionals of Orange County register to vote and become educated on how to make informed voting choices! Guest Speaker Tom Ross has decades of experience helping local small businesses navigate ballot initiatives and has worked with local and state government to create better clarity in ballot language.

We ask attendees to bring flashlights (link here to the specific ones needed) to support the Center Docent Program, which provides 100 tours annually free of charge to 2,000+ school children and individuals. Alternatively, we will be accepting monetary donations at check-in, to fund the gift of these special flashlights.

Financial donations can also be made to the Courtny Greenough Memorial Scholarship Fund. Courtny Greenough was the Manager of Education Operations at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. In the twelve years that Courtny worked at Segerstrom Center, she was a true champion of performing arts and education. She was deeply committed to the people, programs and impact of the Center, and touched the lives of countless individuals during her extraordinary life. “CG” was beloved by the Education Department, the Center Docents, the organization, the theater community of Orange County and beyond. https://www.scfta.org/Giving/Memorial.aspx
